Ajaskanta

Black and heavy, rough and raw

In the painting Ajaskanta a single pigment is applied: Magnetite. The grayish black shade of magnetite and the fascinating noble and rough character of the material are brought to its very appearance.

This is done by the formulation of the binder, and the application technique which are carefully adapted to the paint material and the substrate. In the shown example each of the bricks is painted individually. Thus, each of the color fields becomes a painting of its own.
